JEFFREY A. HAWKINS
Executive Director – Christian Security Network

Jeffrey A. Hawkins is the founder and executive director of the Christian Security Network (www.christiansecuritynetwork.org), a Cincinnati-based organization that provides security planning, training and emergency preparedness and response resources for Christian churches, ministries, schools and missionaries.

Formerly chief security officer for a large international Christian ministry, Hawkins is a senior public safety and security professional with almost 30 years of diverse experience working for profit, not-for-profit and government organizations locally, nationally and around the world. A graduate of the Chicago Police Academy, Hawkins spent much of his career in law enforcement.

Hawkins is a Certified Institutional Protection Manager (CIPM) and a Certified Institutional Protection Instructor (CIPI). He currently serves as a Constituent Member on the U.S. State Department Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) and is head of the Faith Based Organizations Security Committee for the ASIS International, the world’s largest organization of security professionals.

Hawkins was a Chicago-area contact for the White House Advance Team under the Reagan and Clinton administrations, supporting security and logistics for both presidents. He also has worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Diplomat Security Service (DSS) and the U.S. Secret Service in investigations and protection for politicians and dignitaries during high-profile events.

Hawkins has served as adjunct professor of criminal justice, management and technology at College of DuPage and Devry University in the Chicago area. He also is the author of "Introduction to Security and Emergency Planning for Faith Based Organizations," as well as numerous articles for such publications as The Counter Terrorist, Law and Order; Police magazine; Security Management; Security; Technology & Design; and Safety and Health.

Hawkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Elmhurst College and a Master of Science in Management from National-Louis University.  He has more than 1,000 hours of additional professional training in security, law enforcement and emergency management with such specialty agencies as the FBI and counter terrorism agencies in Israel.

A frequent guest on local and national television and radio shows, Hawkins is a noted media authority on the topic of security. 

Hawkins is a native of Chicago.
